Day 1
At last the moment that we've been waiting for is here. Our flight to Seoul was at 8:50am which was consider early. It was nearly a 6+hour flight which frankly speaking, i hate flying because of my plane sickness. Yet because i heart traveling a lot, i don't mind suffer a little on the plane to reach my destination. Hence, all i did was just sleep during the whole time.
The moment our plane touch Incheon Airport, we took subway to Hongyik Station which cost us KWR 3,850 (RM 10.55); which is only a 46 min ride.
You can check out this subway website whereby it will clearly let you know how long is your journey from one station to the other & the cost of it :

Complicated with colourful lines subway :) |
This Seoul MRT map does indeed looks complicated with colourful lines.
Hence it is always advisable to plan your itinerary well so that you won't be wasting your time taking MRT more than sight-seeing.

Since we're staying in Ann's Guesthouse (
http://www.annguesthouse.co.kr/), it's building is connected to "Hongyik station". Meaning, once you reach Hongyik subway, you just take a lift up to your unit. But if you're a first timer to Ann's Guesthouse, you won't know where is the lift situated until you met up with Ann (the owner), and only then she will show you where the lift is.
Nevertheless, Ann has clearly stated the ways to reach her guesthouse in her website hence you won't get lost. As for the rates, it is extremely budget for travelers as us. Since we're traveling in 3 pax, we took the "Family Room for 3 pax @ KWR 90,000 (around RM 257.49 for 3 pax/per/nite)

The room is big enough for 4 pax. It provides a lot of things as picture above & also free light laundry ! We did our light laundry daily & the very next day we will received our clean clothes that we wear previously in our room :) Not to mention, Ann & Her husband is very helpful indeed ! If you need any help or inquiries, there are more happy to assist you. Cut it short, you will feel very homely indeed !
By the time we unpack & rest a while, it is time for dinner. Since we're staying in Ann Guesthouse @ Hongyik area...it is very convenience in finding food. Just opposite our "home", it is the famous hongyik area whereby it is famous for shopping & food ! To speak or read korean language is totally out from our "dictionary". And most of the local food stall's menu are all in Korean language..so we had our dinner by checking out which shop is pack with local korean.
|
Went to this Korean Shop for our dinner which is very delicious ! |

After our dinner, we went for shopping around Hongyik since the day is still young....
Came across this very unique shop selling some sort of biscuit which is sweet.

If you love bags (like me), this shop by the name of "Block" situated somewhere in Hongyik area is a must go! (Forget to take the adresss down)...

Different lovely design to choose from with different colours |
|
Check out the bag jayyden bought ! |
I bought a bag there which is roughly cost less than RM150, which i taught is pretty expensive in the first place. I hardly buy bags more than RM100. But after checking its quality of the bag & the feel of the fabric, i know it will indeed last longer. Hence i bought it & am loving it ever since it is hard to get such design here in Malaysia ! And i love how the zip works ! At least not easy for pickpockets to steal your things without your knowledge...
Oh well, that wraps up our 1st day in Seoul. It was indeed a fruitful relaxing day..
To Be Continue........
hi, thanks for sharing your experience. i will be going to seoul next month and am very interested in Block, the bag shop. i cant seem to find any info about it online. would you be able to tell me roughly where is it located?
ReplyDeleteHi kindaichi,
DeleteThanks for dropping by ! I don't have the address with me though..but as long as u can find "Hello Kitty Cafe In HongYik (or also known as Hong Dae)" area, it is nearby there....
the Hello Kitty Cafe : http://www.eatyourkimchi.com/hello-kitty-cafe/
As long as u can search Hello Kitty, u will see this Block Shop and the quality of the bag is really good ! It can really load heavy stuff ! i usually put my laptop, dslr camera & my handbag..all squeeze into this bag that i bought there ! no kidding! It is definetly heavy but i am using it for 2years everytime i travel and it is still doing very good ! So the nxt time if i'm to go there..i will surely buy a few more! haha
It is slightly expensive, but it is really good quality !
